GROUT COATING SYSTEM™ - Concepts & Estimates

The actual amount of our products needed to strip, grout coat, etch, and seal/finish ceramic tile floors/walls is best determined by using our products on the site. The following are estimates based upon a variety of conditions which vary between removing hard old seals/finishes/soils, and the varying porosities of grout lines-their depth and width, and the condition of the tiles.

Our installed Grout Coating-any color-will not change in appearance over many years. It will eliminate all of the common problems of discolored grout lines. It protects the grout lines from deep below the surface. SKID SAFE Water Based Sealer/Finish protects the Grout Coating and provides unusually high slip resistance to all floor tiles and floor materials (ASTM C 1028,COF: .81 DRY, COF: .77 WET) as confirmed by a State of California certified independent test laboratory. Installations over 8 years old exhibit the original color of the installed Grout Coating!

Used dull tiles and ugly discolored grout lines are transformed into bright glossy tiles and gorgeous looking grout lines with our GROUT COATING SYSTEM™.

New tiles and grout lines and existing tiles/grout lines can now keep an uniform appearance, and they can stay protected from all well known discolorations and stains. It is no longer necessary to use costly methods to keep the grout lines clean and in good condition.

If you like your grout line appearance as it is now, seal the tiles and grout lines with our SKID SAFE Water Based Sealer/Finish to protect the grout lines, improve the appearance, and add high slip resistance to the floor tiles for many years. With proper use of the GROUT COATING SYSTEM™ there is no need to clean grout lines again.

SKID SAFE Water Based Sealer/Finish eliminates the very high USE COSTS associated with other sealers/finishes which require regular stripping. SKID SAFE does not require stripping! All maintenance costs produce a USE COST for a sealer/finish which dramatically raises the cost of using that product. For example, over a 5 year timeframe, a floor area requiring one gallon of a sealer/finish at the initial installation and subsequently stripped and re-applied twice a year will actually require 10 gallons of that sealer/finish plus the labor maintenance and stripper product costs. This can produce a USE COST of that sealer/finish to actually be hundreds - thousands of dollars for that single area!

The spread rate of SKID SAFE will vary based upon the porosity of the floor material that is being sealed and the number of coats being applied. Porous materials which are not presently sealed such as wood, concrete, paints, ceramic tile/grout lines, marble and other stones, vinyl, and paint may have a typical spread rate per coat of SKID SAFE Water Based Sealer/Finish of the following:
First coat: 400 +sq.ft. per gallon, Second coat: 800 sq. ft. per gallon, Third coat: 1600 sq.ft. per gallon, Fourth coat: 2000+ sq.ft. per gallon. FOUR COATS ARE REQUIRED. 6 coats are required when using ND AGGREGATE™ and the approximate spread rate will exceed 2000 sq. ft. per gallon for the Fifth and Sixth required coats. We highly recommend that you test our products on your material to learn the exact spread rate for all required coats!

SKID SAFE can beautify and protect concrete, marble, terrazzo, limestone, brick, granite, slate, stucco, vinyl, plastics, metals, paints, and many other materials as noted in our Product Data. Architects can specify the use of our GROUT COATING SYSTEM™ for new tiles to make the grout color brilliant looking while saving the property owner substantial maintenance costs.

The GROUT COATING SYSTEM™ can be used on all quarry tiles - without our unique etcher- SUPER BOND & CLEAN™. Our GROUT COATING can be applied directly into wide grout lines and sealed with SKID SAFE, too.

It is very important to remove old seals/waxes/finishes/soils from the grout lines. Even brand new grout lines/tiles need to be cleaned. The reason is to open the pores of each grout line so that GROUT COATING can penetrate deep within each grout line. Not doing so will make our Grout coating look "runny and cracked" after it has dried in each grout line. Use a stripper to thoroughly strip and clean grout lines.

Our SUPER BOND & CLEAN™ is unique chemical product technology which permanently eliminates all adhesion problems for any sealer/finish on ceramic tile and on concrete. It will also brilliantly degrease and clean tiles and concrete quickly and easily. It offers many advantages over muriatic acid and shot blasting for concrete. SUPER BOND & CLEAN™ has only very slight dull odor when in use. It insures that our SKID SAFE will not peel up on ceramic tile flooring.

ND AGGREGATE™ with our SKID SAFE Water Based Sealer and Finish creates non slip floor finish that can reduce slip and fall hazards on ceramic tiles, and other flooring surfaces. If you are looking for non slip flooring with high chemical resistance you do not need to look any further.

Our GROUT COATING SYSTEM™ offers a new and unique method to dramatically lower the costs of keeping new and used tile walls/floors looking excellent - all of the time!

The approximate spread rate is 400 sq.ft. per gallon depending on the porosity of the substrate.

GROUT COATING SYSTEM™ requires 4 coats of SKID SAFE. The approximate spread rate for all 4 applied coats to ceramic tile floors is about 638 sq.ft. per gallon. The porosity and depth of the grout lines and the condition of the tiles will affect the spread rate.

NO SLIP GROUT COATING SYSTEM™ requires 6 coats of SKID SAFE. The approximate spread rate for all 6 applied coats to ceramic tile floors is about 448 sq.ft. per gallon. The porosity and depth of the grout lines and the condition of the tiles will affect the spread rate.

Our GROUT COATING SYSTEM™ is guaranteed to perform for 5 years when properly applied and maintained according to our directions.

Testing our products on a small inconspicuous area will demonstrate its performance for your end use, and it will allow you to determine the exact spread rates of our sealers/finishes so that you will know how much product you need for your project. Contact us to complete our RETURN/REFUND FORM so that we may learn about your reasons for a return and properly credit your credit card when we authorize your request. This Guarantee does not cover any of our products in gallon, or larges sizes; it covers only quart sizes and 1 lb bags of ND AGGREGATE™, and is limited to one unit per product.

FIVE YEAR WARRANTY:

Your purchase of any of our primers/sealers/finishes/coatings are warranted to perform according to our specifications when applied and maintained according to our directions for 5 years. This warranty does not cover: misuse, misapplication, poor maintenance and high gloss. Your rights under this warranty are not transferable. Only the original buyer may file a claim with us under this warranty. If we determine the validity of a claim under this warranty, we will refund or replace the product(s) at your option less the time that the product(s) performed from the 5 year period. Example: If the product performed for 2.5 years, you could receive a refund of half the product cost, or replace the product at a credit of half of the List Price towards replacement.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:

You understand and agree that the owners of this site shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or exemplary damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, data or other intangible losses (even if the owners of this site have been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from the use or the inability to use the product(s) and or service(s) or any misuse of the product(s) and or service(s) in a manner not in accordance with their intended use. The user assumes full responsibility and risk in testing this product for the particular application and for determination of proper disposal method of chemical residues and cleaning implements according to State and Federal regulations.
