Manufacturer - Exclusive Distributor Of Unique And Superior Chemical Product Technology Since 1986
Test this product on a spare tile sample for suitability before treating the floor/wall, or test in a small inconspicuous area of the tile floor/wall!
Please have available the following tools and equipment:
1. Several clean cloths to detail grout lines, if necessary. A fan or blower.
2. A large bucket of clean water, and an empty bucket or tray to pour SKID SAFE.
3. A stiff bristled floor brush, or scrubbing machine with both a stripping pad, and a lighter pad. Use after a stripper has stripped all old seal and soils especially from the grout lines after sufficient soaking time. Use the lighter pad to use to scrub the floor when rinsing off SUPER BOND & CLEAN, if necessary.
4. A #10 squeegee and a pole to put it on, and a yellow rounded sponge to move the Grout Coating on the floor/wall. This is important for walls and for uneven areas of the floor.
5. A new white cotton mop (pre-rinsed), and or a good quality urethane type sponge mop with extra refills for both. You can use either type mop above to apply SKID SAFE to the floor, but you are likely to prefer the sponge mop to seal the walls and possibly the floor, too.
6. All needed chemical products: Grout Coating, SUPER BOND & CLEAN, SKID SAFE Water Based Sealer/Finish, a cleaner, and a stripper with a neutralizer.
7. All
grout must be UNSEALED -never sealed-and CLEAN before applying GROUT COATING.
If the grout lines have ever been sealed, use a stripper to thoroughly
strip any sealer or wax in the grout. If the grout is unsealed, it should be
thoroughly cleaned with a neutral cleaner. It is not necessary to try to clean
dirty grout lines to an even appearance before using our GROUT COATING!
Even blackened grout lines can be coated with any of our colors of GROUT COATING
without showing through or in any way affecting your selected Grout Coating
Color.

A. PREPARATION OF THE CERAMIC WALL/FLOOR TILES AND GROUT LINES:
1. Regrout loose or missing grout.
2. Recaulk tub tile joint. Check for and stop all known water leaks under the tile floor and in the tile walls before starting the application. Water leaks can delay or prevent the proper drying of our GROUT COATING. Water leaks can delay or prevent the proper drying of our GROUT COATING.
3. If this is a used tile floor, or a new floor, which has never been sealed/waxed, clean the tiles and grout lines especially urinal areas with a neutral cleaner.
4. Previously sealed/waxed tile and grout lines on the floor/wall must be thoroughly stripped to expose the pores of the depth of the grout lines, and to expose the natural state of the tile. Doing so enables our Grout Coating to penetrate to the full depth of each grout line and properly prepare the tiles surface for treatment with our products.
A. Use a stripper to remove most old seals and old epoxy/urethanes.
B. Remove the stripper from the floor and all liquid and double rinse the floor with plain water. Then, neutralize the PH with a 4-1 vinegar rinse (water-vinegar), or use a neutralizer from a janitorial supply shop. Apply the solution to the floor and allow it to dry with the use of a fan or blower (available at a janitorial supply shop).
When the floor is absolutely dry to the touch, now it is ready for the application of SUPER BOND & CLEAN.
B. DIRECTIONS FOR SUPER BOND & CLEAN:
1. IMPORTANT: Test this product on a spare tile sample, or in a small inconspicuous area for suitability before treating the whole floor/wall. Read all Precautions and Directions thoroughly before using this product.
Precautions: Adjacent areas must be properly protected when using this product. Though harmless to most building surfaces, the damage SUPER BOND & CLEAN causes to glass, soft metal is considered permanent. Cover all nearby windows and aluminum with plastic sheeting and plastic tape. Also, protect vegetation. SUPER BOND & CLEAN turns foliage brown on contact, and if drawn up through plants roots, it dehydrates and can kill them. Cover plants with plastic sheeting to keep concentrated SUPER BOND & CLEAN off foliage, and protect roots by either containing the rinse or trenching it away. Wear rubber gloves and safety goggles. If working indoors ventilate the area.
START WITH THE WALLS, THEN COMPLETE THE FLOORS Protect any area which is not ceramic tile with a drop cloth when applying SUPER BOND & CLEAN and our other product
2. Use a clean pre-rinsed and dried mop, or a quality sponge mop to apply SUPER BOND & CLEAN at full strength at about 400 sq.ft. per gallon (100 sq.ft. per quart). Do not mix it with water. Make sure that the floor/wall are all well covered with this product. Allow SUPER BOND & CLEAN to soak on the floor/wall for 3 minutes. Closely monitor the work area making sure that it is at all times thoroughly covered with the product, and treat only as big area as you can handle. SUPER BOND & CLEAN must not dry out on tiles, or any surfaces. This is especially important to keep in mind when using SUPER BOND & CLEAN on the walls - keep an eye on the areas where you have applied SUPER BOND & CLEAN, because it might be necessary to add more of it, before it dries out.
3. By gently scrubbing with a soft nylon brush and a lot of clean water remove all of the SUPER BOND & CLEAN from the wall/floor. Do this very thoroughly because all of the loose whitish residue has to be removed. Do not scrub hard! Repeat this procedure 3 times, or until there is not any whitish haze left on the tiles when they are dry.
4. Let the floor/wall dry for about an hour. When dry, the tiles should look dull, because there is now a frosting on them to create excellent adhesion for our SKID SAFE Water Based Sealer/Finish. If you see any whitish haze, or uneven looking appearance, repeat the step #4. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SCRUB THE TILES SO THEY LOOK GLOSSY OR YOU WILL BE REMOVING SUPER BOND & CLEAN and defeat its purpose to create permanent adhesion for SKID SAFE.
C. APPLICATION OF THE GROUT COATING:
1. Shake or mix the container vigorously for 30-60 seconds.
START WITH THE WALLS, THEN COMPLETE THE FLOORS Protect any area which is not ceramic tile with a drop cloth when applying the Grout Coating and our other products.
2. For walls, pour a medium amount of Grout Coating on the yellow rounded sponge and spread it on the upper most area of the wall-left to right-and spread it over the tiles and grout lines. Use your squeegee to move most of the Grout Coating from the tiles into the grout lines so that they are heavily covered without dripping. It is not necessary to try and remove all coating from the tiles surface at this time. The Grout Coating will sink into each grout line after 24 hour drying time.
3. When all walls are sealed, remove the drop cloth and begin the application to the floor starting at the back left hand side. Pour a line of the well shaken/stirred Grout Coating about the length of your squeegee blade and about 6 inches from the corner on the floor. Hold the squeegee blade at a slightly downward angle as you move the coating on the floor with it.
4. Now, draw the coating across the tiles and grout lines with the squeegee blade so that you see the coating is heavily covering the grout lines. The coating should look high on the grout lines which means at least level with the tiles. Use your rounded yellow sponge to spread the coating over any grout lines near the back wall or on baseboard tiles and grout lines.
5. Cover the entire back area of the floor-from left to right thoroughly with Grout Coating. Keep the Grout Coating container near you for easy access. Apply another line of Grout Coating when needed and repeat the above procedure for spreading the Grout Coating. It is NOT necessary to try and move all the coating off the tiles, now. Trying to do so is a complete waste of time! You will be damp mopping the floor of coating off the tiles later. Yes, you are moving a lot of the Coating off the tiles and into the grout now in this application. As you experience spreading the Grout Coating on the floor, you may pour more of it on an area to be spread with the squeegee.
6. Complete the application to the entire floor. Secure the area so no one will enter it. Use a fan or blower for better drying.
7. Return in 24 hours to damp mop the Grout Coating off the tiles. The Grout Coating MUST dry for a minimum 24 hours! Earlier removal will likely remove it from the grout lines when damp mopping it off the tiles. Remove the Grout Coating from the walls first, and then from the floors.
7a. Use a clean water dampened sponge mop, and mop the tiles of Grout Coating starting at the far back left hand side of the room. Keep the large bucket of clean water near you for easy access.7b. Mop the area so that the tiles are clean without any residues. This requires frequent rinsing of the mop-have several clean refills handy for easier work-and change the rinse water as needed.
7c. Should you notice any removal of Grout Coating from the grout lines, you may reapply the Grout Coating directly into the grout lines with a fine bristled small brush. Also, you may detail an grout line edges of excess coating with a small hand held cloth as you work on each area of the floor.
7d. Complete the above procedures until the entire floor/wall looks good and all excess coating is removed form the tiles.
ALTERNATIVE REMOVAL OF EXCESS COATING FROM THE FLOOR TILES: An alternative removal of excess Grout Coating procedure is to use a floor machine with a BLACK PAD. This will also remove excess Grout Coating from the tiles without harming coating in the grout lines. Then, mop the tiles clean of all residues. If the floor tiles are very old, pitted, and rough, use a coarser pad should you experience any difficulty in removal of excess with the Black Pad. See your floor machine Dealer.
When the tiles are clean and the Grout Coating looks properly in each grout line, you should secure the room for a couple of hours before using SKID SAFE. Then do a small test area to be certain that SKID SAFE does not disturb the installed Grout Coating. The issue is whether the Grout Coating is hardened enough to withstand the subsequent sealing with SKID SAFE. If necessary let the floor/walls dry a little longer.
D. APPLYING SKID SAFE WATER BASED SEALER/FINISH:
Do not shake or stir SKID SAFE. Use it full strength. Pour an amount of it into a bucket. You need to apply a total of 4 coats of SKID SAFE to the wall/floor, one coat at a time, until each coat is absolutely dry to the touch-not sticky nor tacky in feeling- as felt with your hand. Use a fan or blower to speed the drying time of each coat after it has been applied.
The spread rate will vary based upon the porosity of the floor material that is being sealed and the number of coats being applied. Porous materials which are not presently sealed such as wood, concrete, paints, ceramic tile/grout lines, marble and other stones, vinyl, and paint may have a typical spread rate per coat of SKID SAFE Water Based Sealer/Finish of the following:
First coat: 400 +sq.ft. per gallon, Second coat: 800 sq. ft. per gallon, Third coat: 1600 sq.ft. per gallon, Fourth coat: 2000+ sq.ft. per gallon. FOUR COATS ARE REQUIRED. 6 coats are required when using ND AGGREGATE and the approximate spread rate will exceed 2000 sq. ft. per gallon for the Fifth and Sixth required coats. We highly recommend that you test our products on your material to learn the exact spread rate for all required coats!
START WITH THE WALLS, THEN COMPLETE THE FLOORS Protect any area which is not ceramic tile with a drop cloth when applying the SKID SAFE and our other products.
WALL DIRECTIONS:
1. Use a quality sponge, or sponge mop and dip it into the bucket of SKID SAFE. Wring out the excess into the bucket so that the sponge mop is damp, not dripping.
2. Start at the furthermost upper wall area and move the sponge mop across the wall until you cannot see any wetness. Then, re-dampen the mop in SKID SAFE and continue applying it where you left off. If you miss a spot, you can apply it again without any harm to the appearance. Complete all walls with SKID SAFE. Turn on the blower and allow each coat to dry to the touch about 10-20 minutes for each coat applied.
3. Now, apply the next coat of SKID SAFE repeating all procedures above until 4 coats have been applied. The walls should look bright and shiny. You are finished with the walls. Do not clean the walls at all for at least 96 hours for any reason. Remove the drop cloth on the floor.
FLOOR DIRECTIONS:
1. Make sure the floor is completely clean, free of dust and residue of the Grout Coating. Then, pour a small but generous quantity on the back area of the floor. Gently and slowly spread it over an area with a sponge mop so that the first coat looks slightly milky white. This is a heavier coat for maximum penetration into the grout lines.
2. Add more SKID SAFE and repeat this procedure until the entire floor is sealed with the first coat. Put your mops soaking into a bucket of SKID SAFE so that they will not dry out and be sealed while you wait for the floor to dry!
3. Allow this coat to dry to the touch with the use of a fan or blower.
4. Now apply the second coat. Yes, you should wear very clean shoes, or better yet no shoes. You will be walking on the first coat in order to apply the second and subsequent coats. Follow the application procedures above except now spread the product so that it looks water clear-not milky white-over the entire floor.
5. Repeat the drying procedures above, and keep the mops/sponges soaking in SKID SAFE.
6. When the second coat is absolutely dry to the touch, repeat all procedures above to apply the 3rd and 4th coats.
7. Now, after the 4th coat is dry, cover the floor with cardboard or butcher paper and secure so that walking will not remove it. People can walk lightly on the covering after a minimum of 8 hours drying time.
8. After 96 hours of curing time, remove the covering and enjoy the floor.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE ND AGGREGATE™ WITH SKID SAFE TO CREATE TRUE TRACTION
NON SLIP SURFACE:
MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES FOR SKID SAFE:
1. We suggest that you clean the floor daily with just plain water, or with a neutral cleaner.
2. Cleaner's residues can dull the gloss so pre test thoroughly any other cleaner(s) that you wish to use.
3. Should there be any scuff marks, they can be removed easily with a paper towel and a small amount of our cleaner, above.
4. Be sure to use a disinfectant known not to harm floor finishes, and that the janitor avoids spraying it on the floor when he sprays it in the urinals!
5. Should there be a worn or dull area over time, it is much easier to reapply at coat or two of SKID SAFE to the floor-takes minutes-than to burnish the existing finish. However, SKID SAFE can be burnished with a low speed burnisher (175-300 RPM). Use a red pad and a light sprinkle of a 4-1 dilution with water of SKID SAFE as a spray buff on the floor, immediately before burnishing. This procedure will remove any scratches or scuff marks and may make the finish look duller. Now, use a white pad on the same machine and burnish the floor with a light sprinkle of the 4-1 dilution of SKID SAFE which will bring back the high gloss.
6. SKID SAFE does not require stripping! Worn areas will accept a new application applied over the pre-cleaned worn areas. However, SKID SAFE is strippable with our stripper and that procedure will not harm the installed Grout Coating at all!
Concrete may be elegantly renewed and cleaned with a brief application of CONCRETE BOND & CLEAN and water without waiting an hour for it to dry. Apply at the 200 sq.ft. per gallon application rate on the soiled concrete, add water liberally, and brush well for a few minutes. When all soil/oils/greases are emulsified, flush off the concrete so that all solution is removed, and allow to thoroughly dry (24 hours) before applying SKID SAFE (4 coats) according to our directions.
